Supposedly killed by Turks on a Crusade in 1396, and the crescent on the Boileau arms is supposed to commemorate this. (The castle on the arms perhaps recalls Raymond Boileau who was commissioned to build the castles of Nimes by King Charles VI of France in 1391.)
